The Boat House KC is a dream! We have created this unique venue to feel like your own family boat house. Its such a new and different experience for you and your guests. It truly feels like a little getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, but it’s right here in the Kansas City region. If you are looking to wow your guests with a cool and different venue, this is the venue to book. We have 2 lakes that make for amazing backdrops for photos, an outdoor tiki hut bar, outdoor firepit, plenty of room for yard games or just to hang out. The inside features an awesome antique wood boat that was converted into the coolest bar around. The open floorplan of the venue allows all your guests to hang out and chat and truly enjoy the event.

Q. How do I find out if my date of choice available? If not, are there any surrounding dates available? Or do you have a wait list for dates?
Great questions. So, you will want to give us a call to see if the date your wanting is available. We don’t hold dates, once a contract & deposit are in our hands, that’s when an event is booked. We don’t do a wait list, so we suggest scheduling an appointment to come walk through our site and as soon as you fall in love with it, because we know you will; decide on a date that is available and book with us!
Q. How far in advance can I reserve my date?
We will let you book as far in advance as you would like with a signed contract and deposit. Know that if you reserve more than 2 years out, that prices may change.

Q. When should I book my venue?
Good question. Once you fall in love with the venue and find a date that works, book! Doesn’t matter if its 3 months away or 2 years. If the date works….book it! Venues tend to book quickly and if your set on a certain date, we highly suggest booking sooner than later to secure your date.
Q: What is included in the rental?
We have different packages available for you to chose from. Those packages will outline the different thing included in the rental for your event.
Q. What is cancellation policy?
Once an event is booked with a signed contract and deposit down, the venue is yours for the date. We don’t do any refunds.
Q. Do you have a list of approved or recommended vendors we can use?
We do have a list of our approved & recommended vendors. This list is continually growing, so if you have a vendor your wanting to use, just let us know and we can send them the forms to fill out to be approved.
Q. Do we have to use your approved vendors? If not, are there limitations or guidelines we need to meet when bringing others in?
Good questions. You don’t have to use our approved vendors, but we do highly recommend them! If you are choosing vendors that aren’t on our list, they will need to contact us and sign a contract agreeing to our vendor guidelines.
Q. Is the site handicap accessible?
Yes. We do have handicap parking spots and one of our bathrooms does have a handicap ramp that goes to the restroom. The venue its self is 1 level. Now depending on if your getting married outside, it will depend on which area you choose for your ceremony site.
Q. Are there noise restrictions?
There are no noise restrictions at our facility.
Q. Is parking available on-site? How much space is there? Will guests be charged for parking?
Yes, we do have plenty of FREE parking on site. Guests will not be charged for parking.

The Boat House KC has a capacity inside of 150 people. This is with round tables (fitting 10 guest per table), area for wedding party table, area for band or DJ and dance floor.
Q. Do you have your own sound equipment and speakers, or will those need to be rented or provided by the entertainment?
No, we don’t have sound equipment or speakers . This will need to be provided by the band or DJ that you decide to hire for your event.
Q. What is the backup plan for rain or inclement weather?
If your planning on getting married on site and it rains, we do have a covered concrete area on the back side of the building that can be used for the ceremony if raining.
Q. Are there any décor restrictions?
Yes. You can’t put any holes in walls or take to the walls. We do have pre-hung hooks throughout the venue that can be used. If you have questions please just ask!
Q. When can vendors arrive for setup?
This will be dependent on what package you choose.
Q. Will your staff be involved in setting up and breaking down the décor? In what capacity?
This will be 100% dependent on what package you choose.
Q. Do you have catering inhouse?
No. We don’t do any catering. You can hire any licensed cater & cake/dessert company that you would like.
Q. Do we have to purchase liquor through you, or can we source liquor elsewhere?
ALL ALCOHOL must be purchased through us. We have different packages that you can choose from and you can add on extras to packages (champagne toast, specialty drink etc)
Q. Who will be our point person as we plan our wedding? Who will be our point person on our wedding day?
This will be the same person and we will let you know once you book with us who you will be working with.
Q. How do we schedule a walk-through of the site?
We would love to show you our space. Just give us a call to setup a walk-through. We just want to make sure that potential clients don’t show up to see the site when an event is going on.

Yes! We do require a day of coordinator.
Q. Is there inside and outside availability?
Yes! We have such a unique inside and outside areas for our guests. The inside includes an antique wood boat bar, plenty of room for up to 200 guests, buffet table area, wedding party seating and plenty of room for your band or DJ to setup and dance floor area for your guests to shake a leg.

Give us a call. As soon as we can confirm the date for your event is available, we e-mail you a contract. Once the contract as been printed off, signed and emailed back and deposit is made you will have secured your date!
